The mere act of openly declaring “I am a Satanist” is not for the faint of heart. Dropping the “S-bomb” creates all sorts of crazy ideas in people’s heads and immediately and irrevocably alters social relations with friends, family, even complete strangers. Real-life Satanists handle this problem in very different ways. Some use assumed names and alternate social-media profiles to avoid “coming out” as Satanists to select individuals or groups, while others achieve complete openness and let the chips fall where they may.
